Lyrisona
Privacy Policy · Effective September 30, 2026
The short version
Lyrisona has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Your songs and videos are made and kept on your iPhone. Lyrics are written by a third-party AI service, Anthropic's Claude: with your permission, the details you enter to write lyrics are sent through Lyrisona's server. Nothing else leaves your phone.
What happens on your phone
- Lyrics you write or paste stay on the device. Drafted lyrics are written online, as explained below.
- Songs are generated by an open-source music model running on the device.
- Lyric timing uses Apple's on-device speech recognition on the song the app generated, to place the words in the lyric video. The microphone is never used and no audio is sent anywhere. The first use of a language may download that language's speech model from Apple.
- Your songs, lyrics and drafts are stored in the app's own folder on your phone and may be included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup like any app data. Deleting a song removes its files.
How lyrics are written
The first time you tap Draft lyrics, the app asks for your permission and explains what is sent. Nothing is sent before you allow it. After that, each time you draft lyrics the app sends your story, theme, mood, genre, language and notes to Lyrisona's server, which asks Anthropic's Claude to write the lyrics and returns them to the app. If you do not allow it, you can still write or paste your own lyrics; nothing is sent.
- Lyrisona's server does not store your story or the lyrics. Anthropic processes them under its privacy policy and does not use them to train its models.
- To limit how many online drafts each person can use, the server keeps a count per install (a random ID the app creates, not linked to you) or, if you bought the unlock, per App Store purchase. The count holds no content and is not used for anything else.
- You can reread this at any time from How lyrics are written, next to the Draft lyrics button.
Other network requests
On first use Lyrisona downloads its music model files (about 2.6 GB) from Hugging Face, where the open-source model is published. Like any download, that request reveals your IP address to the hosting service; it carries nothing you have written. Apart from this download and lyric writing above, Lyrisona makes no network requests.
Sharing
When you share a song, video or lyrics, they go only where you send them through the iOS share sheet.
Purchases and tracking
Lyrisona is free for your first five songs. The one-time "Unlimited songs" unlock is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase: Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether the unlock is owned; we never see your payment details. The app contains no third-party SDKs. Its App Store privacy label lists only what lyric writing sends: user content (your story, used only to write lyrics), an install ID and purchase record (used only to count online drafts). None of it is linked to your identity or used for tracking.
Changes
If a future version changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships and the change described in the release notes.
